Lost my account information.

Somehow I've misplaced my information for Pure basic and I would like to update to the latest version. I also need to change my email associated with account because it is no longer accessible. How would I do this?

The best way I can think of is to write a private message to Fred or use the support mail address.

The login name is your old email address (this never changes as a login name)
Now you have to (only) remember your old password ...

Message Fred with your old email address and new email address. The old address will still be your login as mk-soft said but your new address can be added to the database. You can then reset your password at https://www.purebasic.com/securedownloa ... ssword.php and the reset link will go to your new address.

Seems quite insecure, especially if the lost account holder's email address is known to others.

Lost access to the registered email address and forgotten password usually result in a permanently locked account.

It doesn't help if the saved e-mail address no longer exists.

A new password will be sent to your login e-mail address (or contact e-mail address if you have set it in your user account). It is not possible to retrieve your original password because it is stored using hash format in the database.

I saw all these problems long time ago, talked about them to Fred. But, excepted 2 accounts repaired quickly (thank you again, Fred) after my mails, no answer, no more informations.

He would think we download everything, and this is the time to offer anything. I even imagined, it was a traditionnal protocol in his country.

But in my country (bzh), here is the traditionnal protocol :
step 1 : f... ! My account is blocked
step 2 : I mail to Fred
step 3 : It restores the account and tells me not to forget to update a longer password
step 4 : I remail it is technically unabled. Really.
step 5 : no answer. I just download the version I need, and wait for its answer to donate.
step 6 : 1, 2, 3 years or more, GOTO step 1

Correct. I discussed this with Fred two years ago -> viewtopic.php?p=604244#p604244

Fred's answer was to contact him so he can fix the situation. Your original purchase email always remains your account login, though.

Yes, but what it is important is have the capability to change the recovery password.
