Mmmm... not really. Proper work VISAs can be obtained if you have a sponsoring company. Penang has a Free Industrial Zone where companies like Intel, HP, AMD, Dell and Seagate opearate and we do have foreign nationals living here for a year or 2. I'm not sure where you live but if you can get into some of these companies, I'm sure you can find a way. In Intel where I work, the jobs that need foreign expertise will be in the area of operations.

That place looks really nice. I'm thinking there is no broadband internet connection there - you are gonna need to install a satellite to get your net on.

There is a 256kbit line, and the local provider has only a C class for his ip's, so no more than 254 computers can access the internet on the island :)

Then why not try investing in the MSC. I heard they have government sponsored packages for foreign investors. Microsoft and Intel have some interest in it. If you are a developer with a great idea, you might want to consider...

You can then link to Penang's project to be the MSC extention.

nice beach... i wish our waters were that clean... :( the nearest clean beach with acceptable visibility would be langawi, 2 hours by boat from Penang. Anyway, once you have tasted the food here, you would feel like you're in paradise. if you love seafood, i would recommend the black-pepper crabs and buttered prawns. :P

For the most part, I like hawaii :) Though the natives can use some work ;) Doesn't help being mean to "outsiders".
