PureBasic IDE Source Code Anyone??

Post by Randy Walker »

Way back when I first signed on with PureBasic, the source code for the IDE was available for download.
I would like to get my hands on the source for version 5.46 if anyone can send me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

The code is only available from version 6.00.

But you can also add the compiler of version 5.xx in the current IDE version.

Do you mean by editing the IDE source code and recompile?
OR, by adding a compiler under [File] > [Preferences] ? which never made any sense to me.

I pulled down the source for 6.30 but it seems to m=be missing one or more includes:
Line 13: File not found (D:\PureBasic\purebasic-devel\PureBasicIDE\Build\BuildInfo.pb).
There was no "Build" folder to be found.

First, you must compile it according to the instructions via Terminal.
PB files will then be generated.

Via Terminal? What is that? You mean Windows 11 Terminal (cmd) window?
Instructions? Found where?

I hope that helps.

BIG THANKS!!!! Norm!!!
Looks scary. Like way out of my league to even consider if it requires "Microsoft Visual C" as stated in that 2nd link. I can't even stand to look at C. It's like it was designed by Dyslexic Engineers.

You just need to do the 'Building on Windows (quick & easy method)', no VisualC needed.
