PureBasic IDE Source Code Anyone??
Way back when I first signed on with PureBasic, the source code for the IDE was available for download.
I would like to get my hands on the source for version 5.46 if anyone can send me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

I *never* claimed to be a programmer.
Nothing is faster, more stable, or easier to maintain than code that doesn’t exist.

It's on Github... see here: https://github.com/fantaisie-software/p ... reBasicIDE
Re: PureBasic IDE Source Code Anyone??
The code is only available from version 6.00.
But you can also add the compiler of version 5.xx in the current IDE version.

Do you mean by editing the IDE source code and recompile?mk-soft wrote: Sun Feb 15, 2026 1:06 pm But you can also add the compiler of version 5.xx in the current IDE version.
OR, by adding a compiler under [File] > [Preferences] ? which never made any sense to me.

Re: PureBasic IDE Source Code Anyone??
First, you must compile it according to the instructions via Terminal.
PB files will then be generated.

Looks scary. Like way out of my league to even consider if it requires "Microsoft Visual C" as stated in that 2nd link. I can't even stand to look at C. It's like it was designed by Dyslexic Engineers.

Re: PureBasic IDE Source Code Anyone??
You just need to do the 'Building on Windows (quick & easy method)', no VisualC needed.
