Website incredibly slow?
Re: Website incredibly slow?
there were around 3600 guests online the other day. It's somewhat slow today as well 2856 online.
Re: Website incredibly slow?
Not sure how it behaves on your side, but if we replace "somewhat" with "incredible", then we are at the same level.

No, this started for me when I made the post.
Fred also found aggressive bots in April 2024.
Purebasic has been discovered, so this is not going away.

Re: Website incredibly slow?
I've noticed this over the last couple of weeks. Every time the guest numbers are up above 2500.
@Fred, is there a way to limit the number of concurrent guest logins?

Re: Website incredibly slow?
If that is true, we're to blame. As more and more of us - me including - are testing AIs to get PureBasic ideas done, the AIs are buckling up to get smarter in this respect

Re: Website incredibly slow?
Maybe it's a good idea to use cloudflare on this site? I thing the free license is more than enough.
Re: Website incredibly slow?
The problem has occurred sporadically for a few days.HeX0R wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2025 11:10 pm out of curiosity, did that really start for all of you today?
But now it's almost a permanent condition.
Currently 10-15 seconds loading time.
Well, first Fred has to identify the problem. Is it a bot that's stuck somewhere, or an attack?
Cloudflare is perhaps too overkill (and annoying), in my opinion it should be the last solution.
- Is a simple /Disallow in the "robots.txt" enough?
- or a simple rule in the ".htaccess" file?
- or maybe even just a setting / mod from the forum.
- Maybe it's just a bug in the forum, and an upgrade to a current version is enough?
- Or does the host have a problem?

Re: Website incredibly slow?
There is a lot of simultaneous requests coming from a lot of IP, so nothing we can really do about it, wait'n'see
