Website incredibly slow?

Hi, documentation page loads fast. Forum very slow?

On my side it also takes 10-30 seconds for a single page load.
The english grammar is freeware, you can use it freely - But it's not Open Source, i.e. you can not change it or publish it in altered way.

It looks to me like a stupid search engine bot or hack attack, when seeing on on the bottom of forums start page:
In total there are 2434 users online :: 6 registered, 1 hidden and 2427 guests
Most users ever online was 3409 on Fri Jan 31, 2025 7:07 pm

Yup, pretty slow for me too. It only shows 25 users currently, but still lagging.

Almost certainly these are bots scraping for code. There are pros and cons. The more "learning" they achieve with PureBasic syntax, the better the AIs will perform in future requests for help. But, it is too draining now and should only be registered users. The valid AI bots will make formal requests for data. Then those users can be limited access with load sharing tools. Not sure what is under the hood for phpBB to minimize bot traffic?

out of curiosity, did that really start for all of you today?
Because I had that slowness yesterday also, but I was surfing with a VPN (for whatever reasons) and thought that might be the main problem.
