Thanks Fred, glad to be here. I'll probably head over to the beginners section now and start annoying some of the more experienced users

Aye. Will do. I love the search features of these forums. They can normally answer most questions when used correctly.

Couldn't agree more cY, the database functionality could make an interesting BB DLL dont you think :) also I have just started with RedHat and I wanted to look at programming on it, looks to me like PB is the way to go on that front.

BTW, you can wrap highlevel PB command for your own program but you can not release it as public distribution to use with third programming langage. Using a PB dll with your game in blitz is of course ok. All has been dicussed in this topic: viewtopic.php?t=715

Fred, maybe it's good to extend the Helpfiles about this topic... (or the PureBasic Homepage)

So nobody can say:"Didn't know that..."

Have a nice day...

I actually must say that the mentioning of BlitzMax got me here just now! I am a newbie to purebasic and would like to know the ins and outs cos it sounds greeeaaaat!
Currently using BlitzBasic (2D version). Is the adapting to purebasic difficult and time-consuming?
Who is the developer of purebasic and I have heard rumours that he was in the staff of Blitz before! Is this correct?

Worte a letter to the admin here about purebasic but got a VERY short answer. So here are my questions @ all!!!

Is purebasic capable of all features provided in BlitzBasic (2D)?
If not, can I compensate it? Was that feature vital? What about the plans for 3D? I´ve heard the update is going to be free of charge. Is this true?

Is there any chance of having a look at some screenshots of games made with purebasic? I would be VERY interested as I am almost certain to change from BlitzBasic to PureBasic.

The German BlitzBasic has shut down due to bad support from the creators of Blitz. Nuff said, really.

If I check the box "Check here to subscribe to this topic"
will it give me email-notivication or what does it do?

Thanx for all infos or even additional information about PureBasic!

Thanx @ all m8s!

The author of the PureBasic Compiler is Frederic Laboureur, living in France. He has programmed application & extensions in/for BlitzBasic Amiga, now known as AmiBlitz. He has nothing to do with Mark Sibly and his crew (Fred correct me, if I'm wrong :)).
What about the plans for 3D?
3D support is in progress. Fred must write details himself...

Exactly. Look at the order section of the official homepage (http://www.purebasic.com).

Ok, this were some first answers from me.

Regards
André

You would probably be better posting your questions in the "Beginners" forum - I think more people would read it there than here.

Yes, that's true! Buy it once, and never pay a Cent again

(But don't by the cheaper 'Boxed Version' which you can get in the Stores, as this one can't be updated! I suggest you buy Online on
http://www.purebasic.com or http://www.purebasic.de )

Ok, there's a really good (free) one here: http://www.reelmediaproductions.com/hs/

Source: http://www.reelmediaproductions.com/pb/ ... source.zip

More games in PB: http://www.reelmediaproductions.com/pb/gamesinpb.html

And here's a commercial one written in PB: http://www.krakout.com/
