Hi,

2 points:

1/ I bought a 3.81 just a few weeks ago and I did recieve a login and password for connection and further downloads. Anyhow, this does not work. Message is always "Invalid password or user account".

2/ to install PB 3.89 beta 2, informations are to install over a registered version. I did this and it creates a file "update" in the Pb directory. I just copy/paste the new files over the others.
I hope this is correct. Can you confirm ?

Now, my pblm is no PB constant are recognized. What did I missed ? and which corrections should I make ?

Thanks,

Fiwip

With all do respect.. I think the updates suck. I would prefer a regular
install with any version, beta or not. Come talk to me, I'll keep this
thought for a LONG time..

Sorry, I don't know if you are talking to me or what is eventually wrong with the updates or if my english is not quite understandable but I am not the guy in charge of.

I just want somebody to confirm what I did and what are the corrections to make PB constants available again.

On another hand I agree with you a regular install would be a more easier way for updating.

What's the trouble with the updates? You unpack it, run the UpdateTool, hit the 'Update' button, and that's it.

Each final version is avaiable as a full download anyway, and as for the betas,
I don't see the point why you need a full install for that.

Fiwip: don't just copy & paste. Unpack the zip to a seperate folder, and run the updatetool from there.

Timo: thanks for your clear answer but ...

I erase the one I did with copy/paste, install a new 3.81 properly and did exactly what you explain.

Now when I run PB directly or through JaPbe, I get this message : Constant already declared with a different value: #FILE_ATTRIBUTE_ENCRYPTED.

Then PB close or in JaPbe everything related to the compiler is disabled.

What's going on ?

Fiwip:
There is a conflict with the file 'WinConstantsToPB.res' (Residents folder).
(I think it is installed by jaPBe)
Just remove that one and it should run fine.

You have a residents file with that constant already declared in it.
move all .res file out of the residents dir and update again, should fix it
