PureBasic 3.89 Beta 2 released !

Post by Fred »

Hi folks,

We did it again, here is the sequel of the PureBasic 3.89 Beta 1. It's mainly a bug fix release (compared to last beta of course) so please test it as much as you can to help us to track the last bugs (if any 8)). Read carefully the 'Beta readme.txt' file found in the archive...

http://www.purebasic.com/PureBasic_3_89_Beta_2_.zip

Have fun !

Fred.

Again, some more info from me.. ;)

ExplorerListGadget()
- reworked all the sort stuff.. should work as you would expect it now (drives sorted by driveletter not by name etc..)
- added automatic refresh on directory changes (just copy around some files and you'll see)

ExplorerTreeGadget()
- also added a custom sortroutine there.. makes more sense now.

MDIGadget()
- hmm, this one is just too damn stable... nothing to improve there :p

You say in your "Beta - ReadMe.txt" file:

You have to install this beta over a regular PureBasic 3.81.

I don't recall a 'regular' 3.81. You went 3.72, then a 3.8 'update', then a 3.81 beta 'update', then to 3.89 Beta 1 'update', and now this..

What to do?

einander:

This option reloads the pbcompiler.exe, and with it all librarys/residents and stuff.
This way you can add/remove librarys without restarting the IDE itself. only
the compiler will be reloaded. (very usefull for those who develop libs for PB)

NoahPhense:

3.81 was a full release, not just a beta.
You can still get the 3.81 Update (which can update any windows version) here:
http://www.purebasic.com/download.php3

Apply this, and then the beta files.

Not trying to disagree with you.. but no, the only install was 3.80, then 3.81 was an update.. im just trying to clarify.. when he states regular 3.81..

Even the link you gave me, has 3.80 Demo (which I guess is a full install).. and then the 3.81, which is an 'update' ..

I thought I was completely on top of everything.. I save everything
redundantly, I have everything release since 3.72... or MAYBE, I don't??

So, does this mean, that I need to install 3.72, then 3.81... then 3.89 beta 2?

No. There was an email sent awhile back that gives you a login/password to all customers that has the full version of 3.81 for windows. Unfortunately, the email system here is quite screwy, so not everybody get the email, and some people wont know about this due to that...

Either get ahold of Fred or...... :) They will have to send the email through someone else.

I have a sneaky suspecion that their ISP is using one of those many fake anti-spam lists. :) Anyways, contact them for link to the full version.

Fred, could you swap the positions of the "Value" and "Type" columns in
the Variable Viewer, and also make the "Value" field wider? It's a hassle
having to manually expand the fields just to see the values of variables,
especially strings, so having it wide by default would be great. :) Perhaps
the width of "Value" could auto-size with the width of the viewer window...?

I did not receive said e-mail. Any chance this will be rectified in the future?

Thanks.

The mail (and account) system is quite new, so only new users have got it. Not a big deal, you can use the beta2 over any PB installation (theorically).
