Unfortunatly form factor doesnt matters much on the market if it comes to games. Most gamers stick to what they first had and dont even know how crappy the controls are compared to other systems. A great example is the playstation, which historicly has the worst d-pad since the invention of the d-pad. Now we get PS4 and it still didnt change, it surely did not hurt sales.heartbone wrote: form factor of a mobile tablet or smartphone. Which is why most of the apps suck. Who really wants to play MADDEN NFL on a touch screen? However to each their own.
Purebasic for Mobile

Re: Purebasic for Mobile
I use Purebasic for small tools, etc. for my work. Nothing commercial. Lately I have needed to make an Android app and I just don't have the time to learn a new language or environment.
I think keeping everything native would be a huge amount of work, but maybe creating an intermediate solution would work. While researching I have found many other mobile products that simply convert your code, for example PB -> Java. I think this route would suffice for many, such as myself.
Maybe the PB team should post a Kickstarter project to see how much money is out there for a PB mobile solution?

Unless there are knowledgeable resources sitting idle, you'd be robbing Peter to pay Paul.

PB for ARM would be awesome - would love to be able to run and compile on/for Raspberry PI for instance.

Second that. In fact I was dreaming about this since day one.captain_skank wrote:PB for ARM would be awesome - would love to be able to run and compile on/for Raspberry PI for instance.
Intel Core i7 Quad 2.3 Ghz, 8GB RAM, GeForce GT 630M 2GB, Windows 10 (x64)

I would love to be able to compile for Android with PB. Tablets and phones are on the up and up as of late.
Re: Purebasic for Mobile
Windows 8 Apps (for Desktop, Tablets - x86 and RT), and Windows Phone Apps would be nice, too.
Maybe also allow XBox Apps and Games? PureBasic Desktop, PureBasic Mobile, PureBasic Consoles, PureBasic Web?

Re: Purebasic for Mobile
Even though it's most likely too late for PB to compete now with other Android/iOS dev kits I'd be willing to support it on Kickstarter.
Because it would be a cross compiler (you code on one machine for another) - it could be called PureBasicX, or PureX ?
Purebasicx.com is available, so it PureX.mobi
