It's hard to find good paid hosting let alone free. I finally started using godaddy a few years back and couldn't be happier. They have cheap plans that anyone should be able to afford. Best of luck on your search for a free one though.

Do you have a link? $6 is cheap, if you can afford it, but usually the only thing in that price range is gimmick hosts that will yank you if you get any traffic or downloads of your programs.c4s wrote:You can get great shared webhosting for just about $6 per month.

I appreciate it guys, but I can't afford $6 and I certainly can't afford the $60-$100 the above ones are charging.

I only pay $35 per year for my .com website(web host and domain name). It gives me infinite bandwidth/storage space, FTP, and a 2gb email with pop3/imap support. PHP 5.x something, and supports TCP sockets. I have had about a 99% up time.
I go through a reseller and have had the service for well over a year now.
If you're interested in something like this, PM me and I will get you in touch with the reseller and you can discuss a packages that meets your needs.
The guys pretty cool with questions too, I've forgotten my FTP password like 30 times so far and every time he's helped me with it.
[edit] Oh and I haven't had any problems with downloads. I even had a free no-ads upload/download service at one point that had no problems at all.
