i announce you that my sys is running on a old amd processor and is much performant than any dual core based system i already sow and i already tested.

i freezing my perfect sys it with a trial shit. is 100 % protected ....
after 30 days i must reinstall it becouse the trial shit expire
if i see any "special" change of the system's comportament i restart the sys and i got the first's state of my sys (first day of install)

i am imun on any kind of virus so beleave me there is possibilities to become happy

there are manny other options like vitual machines inside the main sys , and others way to not become a .net or microsoft's slave.

so billy i regret to say it : i am running Ubuntu inside your perfect xp pro 2002 sp 2 and i using 100% percent of my processor in my way ...sorry i don't see anywhere a finger icon , but i'll improvize only for microsoft : __|__

Do you realy believe that in the big time of rootkits?
There is maleware that can survive a hard disk format. And there is maleware that can manipulate hard disk images, if there are on a hard disk thats connected to the PC.

I have .NET on my XP Home system and don't really see anything wrong with it. It's like DirectX and some other systems and programs in that it is dormant and not using any CPU time unless you are running a program that uses it.

Am I missing something?

Microsoft development tools are now using the .NET framework. It will be installed on every computer on this planet shortly, including the one your mom is messing up every two weeks.

If that's true, it's not enough to notice, so it's of little or no concern to me.

Europe interests, you are from Austria right?
So ubuntu lunux is now the european alternative to american's garbage
Anyway how you know windows 7 is a windows xp sp2 + nicer graphics , xp sp2 is an win nt , win nt is an win 2000 , win 2000 is an win 98 , win 98 is an win 3.1 and win 3.1 is an ms. dos ,and ms. dos is an CP / M (the 8080 / z80 cpus) the system than Paul etc. assoc to Billy buyed from a little company to sell it the use rights to I.B.M. .
People if you don't know the real history is unacceptable to speak around.
I saw the history with my eyes.
i writed programs in pascal, dbase in cp/m so if you still have an original cp/m and you type there
A>type turbo looking on the screens you'll find out who writed turbo, who's the owner ship.
i done this in 1993 on a computer z80(home computer) with a tv used like monitor.
so do not sell bullshits with this .net i am not so stupid to take it , not to buy it not to get it for free

I think part of the magic of Gnu/Linux (and other libre software) is that it's a global collaborative, co-operative effort. Your perception of a division along national or geographical boundaries seems incongruous to me.
