Percent of PCs with .NET framework installed?
Well, that's a good point which I had not considered. Again, I don't have the burden of worrying about this sort of thing in my job so it's not much on my mind. If source code is really all that easy to extract from .NET assemblies then that is indeed troublesome.thefool wrote:In fact i am more concerned of source code theifery than cracking/keygenning
True, and probably a good reason to avoid .NET until you can find a way to make it a lot harder to do...r_hyde wrote:If source code is really all that easy to extract from .NET assemblies then that is indeed troublesome.
I'm concerned about both code theft and cracking/key genning, but if I had to choose one of them, code theft would definitely it. There are things you can do about cracks and key gens, but if someone gets your code, all bets are off....

Re: Percent of PCs with .NET framework installed?
yes... killing .net is good! Microssoft announced that they wouldn't be supporting it... then apparently retrated that and in the alleged Microsoft APPS store it will be supported for 8.
I just upgraded my T41 laptop to 7 (32 bit) and it runs 9000% faster than Vista did on that thing... I am going to see if .net is on that as well! I don't have any software that requires it... not playing sacred or TitanQuest sso don't need it.

Do you have an article that reports this? I'm very curious.Rook Zimbabwe wrote:yes... killing .net is good! Microssoft announced that they wouldn't be supporting it...

Sacred does not need the .NET framework.Rook Zimbabwe wrote:I don't have any software that requires it... not playing sacred or TitanQuest sso don't need it.
All it needs is DirectX7 and a video codec (dont remember which one).

@naw
Well, 3 years ago it probably was a little different.
