Molebox is too simple to crack/patch. No real protection

Well, that's a good point which I had not considered. Again, I don't have the burden of worrying about this sort of thing in my job so it's not much on my mind. If source code is really all that easy to extract from .NET assemblies then that is indeed troublesome.

True, and probably a good reason to avoid .NET until you can find a way to make it a lot harder to do...

I'm concerned about both code theft and cracking/key genning, but if I had to choose one of them, code theft would definitely it. There are things you can do about cracks and key gens, but if someone gets your code, all bets are off....

If I was to write very secure software I would steer clear of dot net.
There was a young lad (boy) the other day that cracked into a new 80 million dollar network in twenty minutes. I would not mind betting it were run using the dot net framework.

It was on the TV news here in Australia. I will have to look for it and get back to you.
Nearly all large companies use dot net over here.
Microsoft rules the roost in Australia.

But it's you who think it was .Nets fault. I don't think so. There may be some zero day exploits but every software with networking features has such exploits. I think you're blaiming .Net because you don't like it

And if performance is a problem, then google for ngen...

yes... killing .net is good! Microssoft announced that they wouldn't be supporting it... then apparently retrated that and in the alleged Microsoft APPS store it will be supported for 8.

I just upgraded my T41 laptop to 7 (32 bit) and it runs 9000% faster than Vista did on that thing... I am going to see if .net is on that as well! I don't have any software that requires it... not playing sacred or TitanQuest sso don't need it.
Binarily speaking... it takes 10 to Tango!!!

Do you have an article that reports this? I'm very curious.

Sacred does not need the .NET framework.
All it needs is DirectX7 and a video codec (dont remember which one).
