another free form designer...

Everything else that doesn't fall into one of the other PB categories.

Mmm... this software looks very similar to Microsoft-Dialog-Editor (for Windows3.1). BTW, have you ever tried it ? I got it with the BCX distribution (I think Microsoft released it for free) and it produces two files: .dlg and .res , so a converter would be needed to produce PureBasic code, but there is a converter for BCX-Basic with sources. Although it's made for 3.1, I think it's very useful. In the visual editor, buttons look like 3.1, but in your applications, you'll have normal Win95+ look, of course.

Seldon, that is the software i'm using in my editor, i posted the link before.

rather than converting the files i used its interface to make a true pb window editor, it's much better this way.

anyways if you want to use that software you will have to purchase it (50$).

Thanx Kendrel for posting info on this form designer.

By the way, I think that including a free form designer with PB would help promoting PB a lot. Most people expect this sort of thing these days. Is it a bad thing to make programming easier? If it is, maybe I should go back to assembly language. There is a very nice ide for MASM named RadASM, and guess what - it has a form designer.
:)

Then again, I get a lot more work done using PB than MASM... :)

Gantry

I bet that if PureBasic offer a form designer (the typical one: with MDI with drag, drop, etc) they could have 10 times more registered users.
Of course, the form designer must be coded in asm or PB.

First want to say something about commercial stuff:

I personally believe in the possibility of selling software and code.
However I don't believe in software-patents and copyrights enforced with violence by breaking peoples human right (DMCA).

Secondly I want to say that each Software must have its price.
If you go on a WEB-Site, and if you use a programm you feel if
its "worth that price" or not.

When I got my first copy of purebasic that time it was new, I did not feel very good about that (no undo in the editor, even the smallest normalities missing).

That changed a lot as we all know. Currently I am thinking of rewriting some Powerbasic-Programms to Purebasic cause I am shure they'll run faster.

About selling and giving free, I have a free Program on my WEB-Site
the download is counted. It was take 590 times (SMPOV). The result: I got only 2 or 3 mails that something did not work.

If I had been selling it, I had shurely been getting more response if it did not work for someone (whyever).

If its free, people often just try it, and if it doesnt work, they put it aside like a cheap apple.

So if you feel your software is worth some money, try to sell it.
However its not a bad idea to do it like this (think of ZoneAlarm):
- put a fully usable, 100% working version (no time-limit etc.) for free up.
- Let the PRO-Version cost some money for those WHO really decided to extensively use your program.

In some way thats what Purebasic also is doing.

So everyone CAN try and USE your tool, and someone who want additional "PRO" Features (Features you only need when you extensively use the tool) then you have to pay (but you ar e willing to do that).

Btw. My download (free :) here: http://www.it-berater.org (->Downloads)
