Windows Platform SDK

Ok, I've downloaded the Windows Platform SDK. I'm afraid to install it.

Could someone who has installed it on either Windows 2000 or Windows
XP, let me know how big of a crap it takes.. ? ;)

iirc 350 mb

have downloaded it, haven't installed it yet, just like you :-)

does it mess up anything in wondows? anybody?

yes, something around that.
It will display the required amout of disk space, when you select
the different components to install.

Microsoft SDK platform directory size for everything:
File size total 655,355,316 ... allocated 1,402,894,336 bytes

I had to download and install in one go, because the .bat file for unpacking did not work...

The install did no harm (beside taking 1.5 gig disk space of course).

WinXp Home.

got 200 gig in this machine, that should be enough :-)

Excellent Guys, thanks a bunch. Going to install
it tonight when I get home from work.

I already have the win32.hlp and the asm (stuff) installed in
c:\program files\purebasic\help\ .. works great.

Ok, I have 55gb free.. ;) but still I don't need all that crap.

So here's what I installed:

I selected Core SDK Documentation only.

Installs 131.9MB, which is excellent. For I don't need the
examples, just the main searchable chm .. it has all the
API Functions and Styles.. woot

That depends on the used filesystem on your hard disk.
On my PC (Win2k Pro):

=> File size of SDK: 655.349.168 Bytes
=> Allocated Space on HD: 691.429.376 Bytes
