What's up with the latest bot spam?

For everything that's not in any way related to PureBasic. General chat etc...

What's up with the latest bot spam?

Post by NicTheQuick »

As you may have noticed in the last week there were a few bots that successfully registered here in the board and started creating spam posts.

Any idea why this happens now? Is it because of removing the User Agent filter again? Or is the Captcha not working properly any more.
The english grammar is freeware, you can use it freely - But it's not Open Source, i.e. you can not change it or publish it in altered way.

Spam posted -> system hardened -> spam posted -> system hardened -> spam posted...

I don't think it's a case of the bot registering but once the user is registered the bot takes over.
though the recent spam posts were likely related to the user agent filter being removed.

Really annoying that they spam in the forum.
In any case, I don't think it makes sense to put these messages in a forum where no one is going to use those links.
This shows that AI is not very intelligent.
