That's it. Just wow. I've been looking for a usable Basic for a while. As a MacOS user I am somewhat restricted. I had tried whatever Xojo was before the rename, and QB64 once it became more usable on the Mac. Pre-Xojo was too limited and aimed at a specific market niche. QB64 had more power but the over decorated syntax (_ everywhere, %$#! suffixes, and so on) and heavy retro graphic focus didn't work for me.
I'm not knocking QB64PE, it's great, but not what I wanted.
In spite of the syntax differences, PureBasic feels like a "real" Basic. I don't have to fight with it to get things done.
And the overall visual quality is impressive.
And it saves me from Python!
Good job. Easily worth the license fee. Thanks to everyone working on it!
Wow
Re: Wow
Welcome aboard,
I had the same feeling ca. 20 years ago (god I feel old), coming from the dying Amiga to PC platform,
through many different basic dialects (ASIC, QB, Visual etc.) searching quite a lot, and finally finding PB.
I'm sure you are gonna be quite satisfied whit it for years to come, Fred, Freak and the other crew are awesome.
