PureBasic icon

Post by Dreamland Fantasy »

Hi there,

This is something I've been wondering about for years, why is the PureBasic icon a stylised 'Z'?

Just curious if there is any deep meaning or reasoning behind it.

Kind regards,

Francis

It is not a Z, but three parallel lines representing the three platforms and a diagonal line as a union

For nothing, in fact. I needed an icon for the Windows version of PB, so I took Paint and started messing with that. BTW, than it's not a Z, it has 3 horizontal lines :-).

I was sure that it had been discussed before, but doing a search for "PureBasic" and "icon" brought up too many other posts.

Kind regards,

I never liked the logo (or the name of the application) because they seem like a toy instead of a powerful tool :(
But I understand that sometimes it is more important to keep things unchanged.

I've always seen an italic PB with some strokes missing for whatever reason.

I was told at school that a 'Z' can have three lines, so from my educational background this is considered to be a letter Z.

A new shiny 3D high-res version could be welcome.
