? for the Gurus

Post by Kuron »

I am new to the Raspberry Pi world and could use some advice. Wifey bought me this Orange Pi for Christmas. It just came yesterday. The default OS is Orange Pi OS which is based on ANDROID AFAIK.

I want to install PB on this and use it for writing some software. What version of Linux do people recommend for me to try to install on this?

I am NOT a Linux guru, but I am comfortable with Mint (Cinnamon) and I am getting along fine with the Linux Development Environment on my Chromebook.

Supposedly the only supported versions of Linux for this Orange Pi are: Manjaro、Ubuntu22.04、Debian11

Open to all suggestions and advice. Thank you in advance!
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

you would have to try installing ubuntu22 or Debian 11, though whether it'd be compatible with PB you would have to see

Raspberry PI OS is currently based on Debian 11, so maybe look at that.

Since you need the Raspberry Pi OS version of PureBasic, you could also try to get the Raspberry Pi OS working on your Orange Pi.
Maybe this helps
