Recent Files...

Post by LJ »

Under File, Recent Files, a much larger list than the last 9 most recently used files. Minimum of 20 would be awesome.

Open the File PureBasic.prefs in your PureBasic Folder with a TextEditor
Look for Count=9 and change it to the Number you need

No

No, that doesn't work. It maxs out at 10 and keeps writing over the value of 20 with 10 when Purebasic is ran.

Wat? The PREFS file is Text?

Post by oldefoxx »

I was wondering why I didn't have any recent files list in the IDE. Now I read that other have it, and that the PureBasic.prefs file can be edited with a text editor to change preferences. But when I open my purebasic.prefs file, it is garbage(unprintable binary code) and one word in German. So I have no idea what entries should appear in that file, and without that knowledge, I can't regenerate it. I would either appreciate a good purebasic.prefs file to replace the one I have, or a breakdown on acceptable entries to build one myself.

Ah, to Answer One's Own Question!

If went back under File/Preferences in the IDE and told the system to Save my settings, and the garbaged PureBASUC.Prefs file was replaced with a text version. The Recent Files setting was 0, so I changed that to 9, and saved it again. I noted that a number of settings cannot be done
from the IDE. Not real important, but would make it a bit more friendly.
