The IDE will have a hard time deciding what is a deliberate miss and what is an accidental miss? 
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.

i agree, while ctrl is down, clicking on the window should not drop the selection. also clicking on an already selected gadget, while ctrl is down, should unselect that gadget. and you shouldnt be able to move the gadgets while ctrl is down.
