I would rather have them spend their limited time fixing more bugs than re-telling us about those they've fixed.
The problem with the current system is that fixes may be [DONE] several weeks or months before the code is released, by which time the entry might be many pages down the forum list. Also, not all PB users check the forums every day, so fixes are easy to miss.
Since Fred already takes the time to post a [DONE] entry, it would only take a few more seconds to do a cut and paste of the bug's URL and put it somewhere in the Announcment section. Then once the new version is released, and the fixes are identified in the documentation, these URLs could be deleted from the Announcement section in readiness for the next batch of fixes.
This is a simple technique that I've used a lot over the years. It keeps everyone informed, with essentially no administrative overhead.
