Firstly, I'm sorry for the recent downtime. Basically, we exceeded our allowed bandwidth for April (sometime last week)! This is the first time this has ever happened and is testement to PB's growing community. I've now stumped up the extra ca$h required to get things back on-line (after okaying it with the Wife ).
Unfortunately, I was unable to put up a temporary page explaining the problem, so many of you were left guessing as to what was going on. I'm taking steps to ensure this doesn't happen again and I'm also talking with Fred regarding our options.

I'm glad this board is back. I just purchased Purebasic and I can use all the help I need. Just going through the old articles already taches me a lot!
It's sad though that the board is a bit slow. I hope that this is just an incident.

Leigh,
First of all, THANK YOU! Until the forum was shut off, I didn't realize that you supported it yourself. After about a week without my daily PureBasic "fix", I started to go into withdrawal - it was awful! Maybe the idea of a reasonable "user fee" (voluntary?) is a good idea, since we get a lot of benefit from the information here.

Many thanks for sorting out the forums Leigh..browsing it has almost become part of my daily routine !
I for one, wouldn`t mind giving a small donation to help keep the site alive. Would it be worth setting up a paypal account for donations?

As the Murphy's law says, when i most need to search for something... the forum is out
In fact i search things everyday.
I think that we can make a voluntary pool to get some money for the forum maintenance, suppouse we get 20 volunteers.. how much everyone must pay? maybe 2 or 3 US monthly?
Its not fair that Leigh pay for something that everyone are using.

As I proposed to Leigh, I'm ready to assume the full cost of a PureBasic forum, as I'm earning money from it, so it seems logical to me to handle it. I would like to move the forums on a faster server to allow a more responsive forum but it would be a pity if all the posts are lost, as a lot of infos are available here.
The new board will be powered by PhpBB2, which is probably the best forum for now and is running blazing fast. Still waiting for your answer Leigh, I can't believe than all the mails get losts (No bounce... ).

Hi Fred and Leigh!
Can you tell how much traffic the forum needs? Perhaps i can help you with webspace and traffic. I'm the owner of a little computer-shop (http://www.odatec.de) here in germany and we don't use a lot bandwith from our webserver. We have a few domains on a dedicated linux-server hosted by a friend. So if traffic is needed, just leave a mail!
