only 64 Bit software !!

Post by applePi »

i feel bad today because look at this program : it is written only for 64Bit systems only

Image

http://www.geeks3d.com/glslhacker/download.php
i can't see the number 32 anywhere
Edit: i saw the 32/64 bit versions for the 0.6.0 only here http://www.geeks3d.com/20131031/glsl-ha ... ogramming/
which are much smaller than the new GLSLHacker_DEV_win64.zip Version: 0.6.3.13 - Release date: February 13, 2014, and don't forget to download the Code Sample Pack at the end of the download page http://www.geeks3d.com/glslhacker/download.php it is realy nice especialy the physX whic are in "\host_api\PhysX3" folder :cloth and fluid. and other goodies. some examples may not run depends on your opengl version and the graphics card

so this is a sign that the 32 bit applications will disappear very soon
i come to this page while downloading the utility GPU Shark 0.7.5 which gives you info about your graphics card
Image

http://www.geeks3d.com/20131112/gpu-sha ... g-utility/

it is realy a great utility which gives you in addition to the details of your GPU an info about the temperature of the GPU in a real time.
the page also has a big number of GLSL shaders. if i able to use one of them with a guidance from what are available here such as idle example ocean, and samuel examples i will post.

If a 32 bit application is run and the first 4gb of RAM is already being used is it possible for the software to still run?

I´m using GPU-Z.
It´s pretty cool and tells you many things about your graphicscard (CoreClock, Temp, Radiator,...)

Of course, because virtual memory addresses are mapped onto physical ones by the OS.

Rubbish. You're only looking at one single product there.
Look at sites like Softpedia.com and MajorGeeks.com and
you'll see that 32-bit software is nowhere near ceasing.
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).
