Monitor problem
I had to replaced my samsung T220 monitor (resolution 1650x1050). My new monitor is Samsung S22C300 (resolution 1920x1080). The pictures of PB programs are not so good as were. Any ideas?

Re: Monitor problem
Are you trying to show us a bad quality image on your monitor by posting a screenshot took with print-screen ?
Do you realize that is coming from memory so it has almost nothing to do with what you see on the screen ?
You should take a picture with a camera and post that, avoiding to compress the image so much like the one you just posted which is showing jpeg artifacts.
Anyway, from the screenshot you are on Windows, so :
The first thing to check it's if you are using the new native resolution of the monitor.
The second could be the ClearType settings, maybe you need to turn it off, or on, or change its settings for the new monitor.
Third, if you are not using a DVI connection or better but a VGA one you should check the phase and clock of the input signal, but I doubt this is the case.
These are the first things coming to mind without being able to see the problem.
Others are the quality of the cable, the quality of the electrical connections, a faulty monitor, EMP attacks from your neighbors, glasses lens requiring cleaning etc.

Re: Monitor problem
The fairest way to evaluate the display quality of an application would be to compare it against the display quality of other applications. Here, PureBasic's Gadgets.pb example is running alongside Internet Explorer, Notepad, Calculator and PhotoShop, on Windows 8.1 Professional, on an LG 1920 x 1080 HDMI display, with no discernible difference.

I hope he didn't mean that ONLY PB programs have a lower quality while all the other programs look exactly as before.
After all the post title is "MONITOR PROBLEM".
But really, when humans are involved, who knows

That's how I understood it, although I may be wrong.luis wrote:I hope he didn't mean that ONLY PB programs have a lower quality while all the other programs look exactly as before...

Re: Monitor problem
I considered it as monitor problem. Another programs with grey text on light background are a problematic as well. But my PB applications did angry me most. Namely buttons look as unfinished.
I understand that PrintScreen may be different in comparison with photography of screen, but i hope that in this case is PrintScreen sufficient.
The pb.gadget file brought a great surprise me - it looks satisfactory. But I don't understand why, because I compiled pb.gadget and my unhappy program in same IDE.

Re: Monitor problem
Not if it is a problem of the monitor. Based on the contents of your second post, probably it isn't.I understand that PrintScreen may be different in comparison with photography of screen, but i hope that in this case is PrintScreen sufficient.
The image is crap like the first one, compressed as hell. Seem resized too.
Apart all that, unsurprisingly it's not clear what your problem is.
So the problem is that the buttons are not rounded ?Namely buttons look as unfinished.
Are you telling me changing the monitor made your round buttons became square ? With the old monitor they were like in the PB example and now are square ?
Check if you have "enable modern theme option" enabled in compiler option.
Or it is something else ?

Re: Monitor problem
Ah, for your app, in Compiler/Compiler Options, tick the option 'Enable modern theme support'

If it sounds simple, you have not grasped the complexity.

Re: Monitor problem
Yes, changing monitor usually disable that option, sometimes switching to a different brand of whiskey do the same.

Re: Monitor problem
The problem was really CompilerOption. Thank you so much to all of you.
