I used to love typing in Jim's programs from magazines like "Compute!'s Gazette". Great times. Wish I were back there again now, but luckily we have emulators and PDFs of the magazines to read. :)
Microsoft Visual Basic only lasted 7 short years: 1991 to 1998.
PureBasic: Born in 1998 and still going strong to this very day!

I liked the z80 machines myself. I dislike the Windows era only because you no longer learned how computers work by using them...

Danilo... you've tainted a nice C64 thread with Steve Jobs... yuck. :(

I used to spend hours at the library photocopying pages of Byte. I do remember that fondly. :D As an Apple owner, you can only imagine the excitement caused by a subscription to Hardcore Computist!

What I did not remember, however, was that even way back then they did "unboxing" of products!!! (First link in thread, just after the comercial.

I saved the file!
I used to do some programming on the 64 in assembly but some of the things said here I didn't know.
It's really interesting and well done.
I really miss the simple 6502 code, the zero page and the horrible fixed stack.
Thank you :)
"Have you tried turning it off and on again ?"
