Speaking of rants..

Post by Fangbeast »

Easus backup software. Another idiot company that doesn't get activation processes. (and the backup is the slowest I have ever used). Even MS backup was twice as fast!!!

I upgraded from v5.3 to v5.8 of their backup product, tried to run it and it wants me to go online to activate it, even though it told me that it is already activated.

What hope does an average person have with this sort of running around in circles, biting yourself in the back design??

Rule 1. if your software works, DO NOT ACCEPT FREE UPGRADES!!
Rule 2. See rule 1.

Oh well, back to their apologetic tech support who never fix anything.

P.S Most people on this forum can code better than that (including me!)

I've been using "Easeus ToDo Backup" without any problems or activation for a few months now. Is that what you're talking about? If so, it's free you know... no activation needed. I got it from http://www.todo-backup.com/products/hom ... ftware.htm at the start of the year.

[Edit] Oops, maybe the latest version has activation now? That's your point? I'm using v5.5, so maybe you can download that from somewhere?
Microsoft Visual Basic only lasted 7 short years: 1991 to 1998.
PureBasic: Born in 1998 and still going strong to this very day!

Using 5.8, home, commercial version. Upgraded from 5.3 which also had the same stupid activation problems. Grr, they fixed it this time but there is the same activation problem each time.

Reminder to self, no more free upgrades while the old one still works.
