PureBasic Blog has been updated

Post by Shield »

Just this morning I was checking the blog page again (I actually do that regularly) only to find out that
it still hasn't been updated...since last August... :|

But for some reason I clicked the wrong bookmark and endet up on http://www.purebasic.fr/blog/ again...
...and found a new post :D Sounds very promising, you should check it out!

Good news... but does anyone know of a way of getting an email when the blog is updated?

There is an RSS feed, maybe you like to subscribe to that one instead. :)

then a new major with a priority for the 64 bit Cocoaified OS X version (which is already running here, but not yet finished/tested).
Woop woop thanks Fred!! If you need some testing done don't hesitate to ask, very much willing to do it, I have a few big apps that uses the gadget library heavily :)

As you probably have noticed, the pace of PureBasic development has slowed down these last months due to full time job for Timo and myself. I’m very aware of the situation and I decided to get back at fulltime on PureBasic early in april ! As always after taking some distance from a project, we have many new ideas to tests and implement and I’m quite excited to get back on core development. We will probably ship one or two bug fix versions and then a new major with a priority for the 64 bit Cocoaified OS X version (which is already running here, but not yet finished/tested). After that, may be some big surprises ;)

Have fun !
Wow, great news! Best I've heard in some time!
I was starting to have my doubts about Fred's continued dedication to PB but this cements his commitment.
Looking forward to the future of PB Fred, thanks! :D

Best part for me was Fred's going fulltime into PureBasic in early April! When that happens, watch out... :!: :!: :!:

I wonder what that means, in terms of bug fixes / new releases.. and for how long that will last?

I've always been under the impression Fred needs to maintain his other job, and then PB comes second?

Fred never said he was quitting his other job. He only said he would be back full-time on PB. This doesn't rule out a part-time job to help pay bills.

I am sure Fred knows what is best for Fred and PB. Anything that benefits either, benefits us.

More attention being paid to PB is never a bad thing. The mention of Cocoa should thrill the Mac users.

Full-time, by definition, means no other work at all; not even part-time. Is there a problem you have with that?
Microsoft Visual Basic only lasted 7 short years: 1991 to 1998.
PureBasic: Born in 1998 and still going strong to this very day!
