OS/X Lion
Just upgraded to Mac OS/X Lion. PureBasic now crashes when you right click in the
editor to copy or Paste.
This is a show stopper as you can't edit any of your code.
The crash is in the release and beta copies of PureBasic.

This doesn't sounds good at all, especially since PB development is on break for some time it seems...
Also, the fact PB uses Carbon is just not good (and I guess the problem is linked to that), Apple likes to drop compatibility quickly.

Ha! This cracked me up. While the issue isn't funny, you are kidding about the heart attack, right ... ???WilliamL wrote:...I'm getting a tightness in my chest and shortness of breath.
Are they on a break from development or maybe they just need a break from us?!Polo wrote:This doesn't sounds good at all, especially since PB development is on break for some time it seems...
Re: OS/X Lion
no heart attack... the thought of living without pb is giving me a panic attack. (humor)
The carbon issue is just another looming problem. It doesn't seem that cocoa is a priority and Lion seems to be moving further from carbon (my guess).
Looks like pb will need an upgrade to run in Lion (from spacebuddy's post). Uncertainty is a problem, maybe some feedback from Fred is needed.

Cocoa has been around for over ten years ...Polo wrote:Apple likes to drop compatibility quickly.
I hope PB still runs well on 10.7 since I'm thinking about upgrading to 10.7 .
I wish they had a usb version of the Magic Trackpad; don't like to buy a bluetooth version.

Is this isolated to the mouse right click, or is it the same even if done with the keyboard?spacebuddy wrote:Just upgraded to Mac OS/X Lion. PureBasic now crashes when you right click in the editor to copy or Paste.

Re: OS/X Lion
Good point, coder14,
Some clarification is needed. Does the editor run ok otherwise or is it impossible to edit the code? In-other-words, is the editor (and pb otherwise) usable in Lion?
It is kinda important that those 'early adopters' let the rest of us know how it is going.

Using the above keys does not crash PB, but copy and paste do not work.
Also, in the PB help, copy and paste does not work. if you select any text in the PB help and try pasting into your
editor nothing happens.
There needs to be an update to fix some of these problems.

Re: OS/X Lion
Finally some good news. if you set your Theme to "Silk icon set" then you can use the icons
to copy and paste, this works perfectly.
This will do till an update is released.
