It's bzip2 format, you can use PowerArchiver to unzip it.

also regarding the Milkshape Ogre export plugin, i found that it only seemed to work with version 1.6.4, the newly released v1.6.5 always crashed for me when i exported. :cry:

I can export ok with the plugin in MS v1.6.5 but PB/OGRE won't load the .mesh model/s (it loads the robot ok). I still need to test some combinations but any hints would be useful. BTW I am triangulating the mesh and have already tried with/ without materials. More info to follow.

do you have any ideas on this?
I found sinbads idea of "re-compiling" my own exporter
a bit overwelming.

also, the zip does not have a version number, but i suspect its version 99d instead of 99e

ok, i installed version 99e and learned the following:
- OGRE will crash if objects are not textured
- this prbably has to do with MS maintaining ref to materials
at the time of export
- exporting static objects without skeletons is ok
- can only texture as .jpg only,not .bmp
