Do you know the feeling ?

Post by codewalker »

Hi,
Do you know the feeling ? Sitting in a cubicle day after day behind a computer screen,
coding your way through software can really make you feel dry up and dull in the head,
wishing you could reboot your self every now and then. We'll these guys from silicon valley
found a way to deal with it.

.
There is a difference between knowing the code and writing the code.
May the code be strong in your projects.

Yep!

I know that feeling well. Interesting idea, but I'm getting a little too old for that. When I was younger I would take bicycle riding breaks for hours at a time. That worked out very well for me because I lived near the beach :D I carried a notepad and pencil in my bike pack so I could write down ideas, coding on paper basically. I was the best thing to reset my brain and get rid of that dull feeling. Glad you brought it up because I could use a break right now!

Well the idea of exercizing after work or inbetween working hours is not new.
I heard (rather saw on a TV show (fiction, not documentation) that in Japan people have a break of 20 minutes or so, gather on the roof or in a gym and do stretching exercises.
Fighting is just another kind of sport.
But I don't like the way they did it in this video.
Kickboxing without any protection whatsoever is dangerous.
A hard kick to the shinbone or a punch in the face won't make you feel good, but give you pain that is far worse than just a neckpain from staring to long at a screen at work.
Not to mention they could trigger serious medical conditions.
Doing the same thing with sufficient protection is the same fun and less dangerous.
Protection gear and punching gloves made of a foam material for example.
Or a thick jacket and pillows attached to your arms and legs and head.
This won't only protect you but you also get exhausted faster which is the point of this project.
To get rid of this excess energy.
