Font Size
I just bought PureBasic. I opened the examples > sources > Arithmetic.pb and looked for a way to increase the font size of the display. I just can't find it.
You must all know how to do it. Please give my a clue.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Font Size
Hello James, welcome to PB! You will be surprised by how much you can do in 2-3 weeks but the first couple of days can be difficult. A case in point being your post here - you know what you mean, but we don't
Do you mean the font size of the PB IDE (code editor)? Or do you mean the font size of an application you are creating? The Arithmetic.pb does not have a Window, Console Window or Debug Window output.

Thank you for this message.
When I clicked on the file called Arithmetic.pb it was displayed. I don't know what editor was selected, but it wasn't TextEdit. The size of the letters in the text was small. When I bring up such an example file, I want to be able to increase the size of the letters in the text.
I think that you are saying that the editor that displayed Arithmetic.pb must be PB IDE. Is that right?
I am not close to creating an application yet. I understand that controlling the font size seen by users of the software that I eventually write is a different matter that I will need to learn about later.
When you say that the file called Arithmetic.pb does not have a Window, Console Window or Debug Window output, I don't know at all what you mean.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Font Size
Hello Jim,
Welcome on board
When you start PureBasic the developement application (IDE) opens with it's own implemented editor (scintilla based). Here's where you see and edit the codes. ...
On some MACs this font is displayed too small, dependent on the local screen resolution and has been reported many times (see bug forum). BUT it'll be fixed with the next PB-version
Tip: write OpenConsole on an empty line. Place the cursor into that command:
a) look at the statusbar
b) press F1 (to open the help)
and look for the small examples at the end of (nearly) each description.
greetings ~ Vera

Try these (and afterwards the Gadget.pb example):James Adrian wrote:When you say that the file called Arithmetic.pb does not have a Window, Console Window or Debug Window output, I don't know at all what you mean.
Code: Select all
;- executing code without output
For a = 1 To 10
b + 5
Next aCode: Select all
;- same code with Debug output
For a = 1 To 10
b + 5
Debug b
Next aCode: Select all
;- enhanced with Window output
OpenWindow(0, 100, 100, 200, 120, "My AppWindow", #PB_Window_ScreenCentered | #PB_Window_SystemMenu)
EditorGadget(1, 10, 10, 180, 100)
For a = 1 To 10
b + 5
AddGadgetItem(1, -1, "b = " + Str(b))
Next a
Repeat
Until WaitWindowEvent() = #PB_Event_CloseWindowa) look at the statusbar

Does this mean that there is currently no way to change the size of the font?
Thank you for your help.

It appears that the problem is fixed. How do I change the font size?IdeasVacuum wrote:See: http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtop ... 24&t=38409

The announcement is only about 2 weeks old, so customizing the font should be available with the next release.James Adrian wrote:It appears that the problem is fixed. How do I change the font size?

Re: Font Size
....Not sure when the release is due, there looks to be a ton of fixes in it.
What you can do for now is to write/edit your code in a text editor and just use the IDE to compile it. I tend to do that anyway, because UltraEdit is my favourite code editor (Ultra Edit is available on the Mac, you might like to try it: http://www.ultraedit.com/products/mac-text-editor.html)
