New PureBasic forum features?

Post by cas »

Look at first post here: http://www.modphpbb3.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=403.
I see two great features that could be helpful here: Select All for code tags and Spoiler tags for hiding long code snippets and making threads more readable.

What do you think?

I've seen those spoiler tags on another forum, and they are helpful. It's not as easy to copy/paste, but it's a worthwhile tradeoff for the readability.

I think I used a Greasemonkey script for this but now I'm not using it anymore and don't know why...maybe it didn't work anymore with the new forum?!

A tip: I'm also using the fantastic "Pure Basic Syntax Highlightning" (see: http://www.forums.purebasic.com/german/ ... 13&t=21089). Can't look at code in the forum without it anymore!
If any of you native English speakers have any suggestions for the above text, please let me know (via PM). Thanks!

To hide (or shrink) long code snippets, you can just go to the "User Control Panel" and switch your Board-Style in the Board-Preferences to "prosilver".

With "prosilver" just a few lines of the code will be shown and you can scroll through the remain.
[Dynamic-Dialogs] - create complex GUIs the easy way
[DeFlicker] - easily deflicker your resizeable Windows
[WinFX] - Window Effects (incl. 'click-through' Window)

Using Greasemonkey you can also take the code-folding- script by edel : Code ausblenden . It works well together with Startgates highlighting.

That is by no means an alternative if ProSilver is of no go - it's ugly and unbearable to view.

Before installing new features to the forum I propose to fix all missing functionality and remove the still containing bugs to the offered styles first - and afterwards maybe improve it for all of them.

Even though it has code-folding, I don't use it because you're 100% right.
