Well they did call it River City... Seriously though it's no fun when it happens to you. Did your car get submerged?

dang! On the bright side there will be a lot of cheap cars on the market, just don't buy one!

I couldn't help but chuckle that the building has its own marina. Having your boat at your building's marina could be very useful at times like this.
It sucks, but at least with the livable area above the parking garage, homes and their contents were not damaged. Unlike those irreplaceable things in your home, cars can be replaced.

Because of my vision I can't drive so I don't have a car. I guess for once I got lucky there.
After two weeks the building is still closed to residents, they are saying that the earliest they may be able to let residents back into their apartments is the 14th so another week yet to go.
They are also claiming that because they didn't buy insurance to cover expenses or losses incurred by residents due to building problems/failures, that they are not liable so no reimbursements for expenses and losses will be available. I wonder how long that will stand up in court because I fully expect there will be legal action filed against them on that point.
