It's not nearly as disturbing as the fact that my washing machine appears to eat my socks! I put 10 pairs in and only 4 pairs come out!

Now any washing machine prepared to eat my festering socks really has got a problem. Damn thing is a psychopath!

What could me more disturbing : that linux was created by Micro Soft
to make the people believe they have a choice or that they open their
win source to the russians ? In the end it is all about money and power.
There is a difference between knowing the code and writing the code.
May the code be strong in your projects.

It is a trap... the source code has multiple back doors that the CIA can use to hack in to the Russian Windows users... Then we will PWN THEM!!!
Binarily speaking... it takes 10 to Tango!!!

What I meant by 'disturbing' is that M$ would voluntarily hand the source code to any outside entity and then bitch about piracy.

I don't think this was a good idea (I don't trust Russia at all), and I will share this quote:
Not only does this give the Russians the opportunity to find gaps in Windows security — it gives them the opportunity to do so while most American companies and organizations don’t have the same opportunity to find the same gaps and plug them.
Cyber war is now a lot easier for them, bad move.
I like logic, hence I dislike humans but love computers.

I don't know why this is such a suprise now, they been doing it for years for other governments. They just added Russia to the list. Apple does it too. But I agree with you Joakim in your mistrust of Russia.
The advantage of a 64 bit operating system over a 32 bit operating system comes down to only being twice the headache.

We have had the "cold war".
We are in the "war on terror".

Maybe the KGB has been feeling a little left out & so now has a new directive,
call it the "war on cold"
srods socks are most probably being used as part of some highly technological KGB experiments in far northern Siberia....
working on solving the problem of "global warming"
