new guy with dumb questions

Post by Spaceman Spiff »

Hi everybody!

I just found PureBASIC and it looks really great! I am writing a few applications already and I have a few games in mind as well! I didn't see a place for introductions but I wanted to ask if there are special boards for these interests that I haven't found yet!

Is there a FAQ for how to use the forum codes... I see nice little boxes around code (most that I have tried has been interesting!) and picture links but I think I miss where he user manuals for the forum are. :)

I did see where to put a picture on my post in my user account... sooo many settings!!!

This forum is about the programming language PureBasic. So the codes posted here can be used inside the IDE with good old copy & paste (and pressing F5 to compile).
If any of you native English speakers have any suggestions for the above text, please let me know (via PM). Thanks!

Have a look at this: http://www.purebasic.fr/english/faq.php#f3r0

Just above the editor shown when posting messages you will see some buttons (for instance Quote and Code). These buttons insert tags which formats the 'encircled' text. Click the preview button below the editor to check if everything is ok before you submit the message.

When confronted with a lot of settings, I usually just leave them alone unless/until I know what they do and have a need/desire to change them. That way you don't have to try and learn it all at once.
