OpenDatabase with connection string

If PB could open [ODBC] databases with a connection string, we could also use:

• FileDSNs and
• DSN less connections

Currently I see no way of doing such with PB.

Also: any hints/workarounds to get such done would be very wellcome.
But it should be something that works with Linux(iODBC) als well as with Windows
and I would be more happy if that would not be to evolved.
