Special sub-forum for COM programming
Hi all,
as far as I can see, COMate actually is a "milestone", in that it adds a whole new bunch of programming possibilities to PureBasic. I think COMate is very powerful, but also not too easy to use, at least for beginners. For instance, how can one get to know all the (200?, 500?, ...?) command-strings which can be used with a ""Word.Document"" object?
I think in the course of time, there will be a lot of questions in conjunction with srod's new versatile and powerful tool. COMate probably also offers some interesting possibilities for writing custom programmes for small to medium-sized companies, I think.
So wouldn't it be useful to have a sub-forum dedicated to COMate?
Regards, Little John

People said the same thing about DispHelper, yet the discussions about it died down rather quickly.
Lets see how this develops first and decide then.

Yep, that sounds more reasonable.srod wrote:I don't think COMate in itself warrants a new sub-forum as such. Perhaps a subforum dedicated to COM in general would be a better idea,
Well, when COMate's announcement thread has reached a size of 20 or 30 pages (which probably will happen in the near future), maybe then it's a good time to think about it again.srod wrote:but then this idea has been raised in the past as well.

The first one who asks: "Who is Niels Bohr?" will get an extra point. XDNiels Bohr wrote:Prediction is very difficult,
especially about the future.
In this case, prediction wasn't exactly hard, though.
COMate's announcement thread now has 35 pages. When someone looks for something related to COMate using the forum search function, he'll very probably find that thread, and then can browse manually through the (currently) 35 pages ...
At least, it would make sense to create more often a seperate thread, rather than posting so many different things into the announcement thread.
However, COMate seems to get increasingly popular, and when there is a sub-forum only for 1 program (TailBite), it makes even more sense to create a sub-forum for a complex area such as COM programming.

Thanks Rsts
But seriously.....i think this idea great.
COM is really a big piece in the programming
Thanks to TsSoft and SROD, PB can play with the grow
And we see numerous code who appears everywhere
Perhaps MASTER SROD and TSSOFT, create a thread, where all this great codes, create by all the members, like Sfsx01 is together
Like a "TUTO" (in french)
