[PB4.30b1]PB itself is running...but all sources raising an error: 'assembler error'.

No more info. Sorry.
Source was the delivered example (e.g. image.pb)

Hardware was a MacBook.

Try compiling from the commandline and tell us the output from that please.

open a 'terminal' window and type 'gcc'. It should gives a good indication. You should also have a "/Developer" directory which tons of stuff in it.

You can install it from the OSX installation DVD, but the best bet is to download it from their website:

http://developer.apple.com/technology/xcode.html

If you aren't sure if you have it installed or not, then you definitely don't.

Yes you are right..it was not installed.
