VOCALOID is a vocal-synthesizing software that enables song writers to generate authentic-sounding singing on their PCs by simply typing in the lyrics and music notes of their compositions. The software synthesizes the sound from "vocal libraries" of recordings of actual singers, retaining the vocal qualities of the original singing voices to reproduce realistic vocals. The software also features simple commands that enable users to add expressive effects - such as vibrato and pitch bends - to their synthesized vocals. Additional releases to the range of vocal libraries currently available will broaden the range of voices and singing styles that can be generated by VOCALOID. VOCALOID can generate singing in Japanese and English. It runs on Windows 2000/XP.

It's Amazing! Yamaha are going to make a fortune. Especially if they can get the technoolgy into a Synth microcontroller with voices on cartridge.

Now all you need is something that randomly makes music and put them both togther - enter it into pop idol or eurovision! ;)

There is allways a certain human aspect of the thing you would have to incorporate. The thing is - good artists create something that might sound a bit like something else (it has to. its a part of human nature that we will find completely different things as bad), but is still unique. It would be hard to create a machine that is unique other from the creator.

oops i forgot: things entering those competitions usually have 0 degree of originality and sucks badass. A random tune generator would probably do better as you say :)

but for normal use music is such a complex thing. A random generator would maybe help you if you are lost of inspiration one day, but there will be loooong time till it can do everything by itself (if ever)

I'm sure it will pop up on ebay very soon ;)

I remember a few PC's ago I had a sound card with a yamaha chip on it and yamaha drivers. Even the PC's I buy today don't sound as good for MIDI, the instrument sounds were amasing

Akiba back street special!

Oryaaaaa, do you come east to Tokyo often? I head to Nagoya sometimes for the tebasaki & mizonikomi :)

I'm actually thinking of the opposite. I want to get further away from places like shibuya and move back to Nagoya (I used to live there about 12-13 years ago and my wife is from there). Then I can go to Fu-rai-bo ;)

Not sure how much work is there though in sys admin. If I was single then I would spend more time in places like Roppongi but I'm not so my place is out in Chiba (ichikawa shi, near urayasu and just down the road from where that english girl got killed and left in a bath tub full of sand, also across the road from Aneha the earthquake real-estate guy - all the loosers  )

Wanna swap cities?

I often went in Fu-rai-bo. :)

In Ichikawa City, there was a woman with whom I had been associating.
Old stories 8)
She was working in the general hospital in the vicinity of Ichikawa Station.
I know there.

>Wanna swap cities?
I think about the plan. whether PureBasic can be used for a new business.
and will go to Tokyo when the shareholder doesn't gather.

The PureBasic book that I wrote next month is put on the market. "DOUJIN SHI" :o
