I can not make run PB 4.1 Beta

Post by chen »

I downloaded the PB 4.1 Beta and uncompressed it .
PB opens but when I execute a program open the pop up windows
compiler for seconds and disappears, but never appear the application.

I tried removing PB 4.01 and leaving only PB4.1 with the same results...

Then I went back to PB 4.01 with no problems...

If some had success with the new beta , please give me a hand here....

thanks.

It works for sure. Also on other distros. It depends on the packages and the path.

@bembulak: did you get it to work? (4.10) if so, please tell me, where the compiler writes the output to....

I found the message about the beta, but I did not see this thread (or the other one listed above) until I had gone all the way through the setup and received the error mentioned here on first compile... I'm sure Freak is making headway on the issue.

no reason to switch to openSuse... I'm very satisfied with my LinuxMint (ubuntu based)
(i guess it works there as freak uses OpenSuSe... )

We are currently investigating the problem, it's reproductable here as well on one computer.

All my previous issues are gone... I had been try to put together a cool little tray based wallpaper changer for Gnome which had not worked until now (4.10 beta). It looks at the National Geographic Photo of the Day site and sets the desktop wallpaper to the daily photo or selects a random past photo on the hour.

Here is a screen shot

And here is the binary if you want to try it:

I made this app for my wife who missed the Windows version I made when I put Ubuntu on the kitchen PC. She had been reminding me to put it back for some time now... Thanks Fred and company!
