On a windows system you can use the ODBC driver provided by M$. On my XP its installed as default. You just need to go to your ODBC configuration tool and set up a user DNS for this.
After that, you can use OpenDatabase() to connect to the server.
If you want to create the ODBC connection withing your code, just do a search on the purearea.net .
