You're right there, on both counts.

I smashed up a ps2 once and that was quite fun, mind you, it had started scratching my disks and I was getting my own back on it.

Then I had to go and buy another one, so I guess the PS's had the last laugh.

What source language did you choose?
The correct translation DE=>EN is "Just crazy"... :o
You see: Never trust an online translator...

German to English, goofy=crazy, so it wasn't that far out.

"Goofy" is the friend of "Mickey Mouse"... This is what comes to my mind when I heard "Goofy".

"goofy" means "albern" in German which is p.e. "giggly" or "ludicrous" in English.

Yes, so "goofy" is not the right word. because, the Smasher is not goofy, but crazy (I could also say "stupid").

Yes, but "Simply only crazy" is EXACTLY the translation word-by-word.

simply=einfach, only=nur, carzy=bescheuert. By the way, "bescheuert" is not that well-known as "verrückt" for non-german people. Maybe you can test again you onlinetranslator again, using "Einfach nur verrückt...".
