uTorrent, stops above 95%????

Post by Hydrate »

I recently downloaded uTorrent, ive forwarded all necessary ports and got it running smoothly, etc. But i have this huge problem, the problem being that above 95% most downloads seem to freeze, i tried to get openoffice the other day through it, and it freezes and the download speeds go below 0.1kb/s... the 2% then takes a further 6-29 hours to download. Can anybody explain this to me, tell me how to fix it or give me another client i can import the downloads into so i dont loose them???

Did you check to see how many seeders and leechers that are available?

I would have thought that wouldnt be the issue as i have tried this with over 10 different peices of software and still the exact issue, if it were one i would understand, but ive tried loads, they all do it, mostly at about 98%ish.

There are seeders and clients which support a nearly complete upload which then 'pauses' until there are several potential other seeders ready to complete, at which time the original seeder will let them complete in hopes that a sufficient number will stay on to allow furture completes, even if the original seeder leaves.

cheers

In case there are "known" bad seeders Peerquardian might help. But in case of Openoffice that is weird..

Sounds like your having issues with the "endgame", there is a setting if I recall in uTorrent that you can adjust or turn on/off the endgame.
(I believe by default it goes into a sort of rush by sending lots of extra and duplicate requests to speed up the last few %)
