Any news on the Mac version?

Post by CSAUER »

Dear Fred,

I would like to give you the feeling, that the PB Mac community is not dead. We are still waiting and we would like to support you on doing some beta tests.

My most important issues, I am waiting for:
- PB 4 syntax compatibility
- more stable IDE
- Universal Binaries

In a second step I am looking forward to see all the missing libs, like printing and 3D.

Hi list,
That is now 1 years ago i get my license for just to use and compile to Mac, much have happens after that .. Mac intel ... So I am also waiting .. I have not used PB Mac for about 8-9 months, because of the limitations.. And no new version to test ...

I found in general that PB Mac was very interesting as a tool for Mac developers, but now it looks to be dead, it have to be a lot of work on the compiler to get it up to date for Mac agin..

It's not dead, it will have a v4.00 version as the other plateform, but we wanted to fix up the Windows version first (and of course release the linux version). I know the feeling about the update, but the v4 was a very important step for us and it gave us an hell of work, due to massive changes and new features. It should be become smooth again in a few months.

Alpha-Version is available for public testing, but actually there is just only a handful response. Maybe you could do some testing as well.

Where is the alpha version posted?

(I'm slightly blind, so excuse me if I missed it!)

@Beforegod: You're welcome. I tried to reactivate the "good old PB Mac community" via PM, if they lost the focus on the PB forum.

There is a new area in the English Forum which is called "Alpha-testing". In Sub-Forum "Alpha Discussion" you can find an Announcement of Fred for Alpha 2. There you can find a link for download the actual alpha, too.
You error reports you should post into "Alpha Bugs".

Here you can find a link to the announcement: http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtopic.php?t=26636

This area is just only temporary public for Mac OS X alpha testing, as Fred wrote.
