WebGadget edit functions for Linux?

WebGadget edit functions for Linux?

Is there any way of achieving the functions for 'editing' the contents of a WebGadget in Linux? (e.g insert content on-the-fly, catching links, etc). I want to port a program to Linux and I can't do it without 'editing' the content of the webgadget dinamically (Like Freak has shown us with his great includefile).
