You cannot make another search so soon after your last...

Hello,

I often get the message "You cannot make another search so soon after your last; please try again in a short while.". What the hell is going on with the forum? This is senseless. Can you turn it off please? I just want to refresh my newest postings

You're evidently refreshing your search, not just a forum list. PHPBB has some default anti-SPAM settings to prevent multiple postings.

No Karbon, you're incorrect. If you try two searches in a row, the second one
won't go through. Also, if you click the "show posts since last visit" and then
try a search, you get that error too. The forums never used to do that. It's
only since the forums were restored after the last backup that it's done it.

It is not senseless. It prevents heavy server load from a) people who click the
refresh button all the time and b) automatic searches by bots.

I decreased the timeout to 5 seconds. I you still get this message often, i suggest you get a life

I agree it is annoying. I sometimes search for different keywords one after one another to see what are the best search results. Waiting inbetween these searches is a right royal pain.

Well, my startpage is the "newest postings" site, and if I want to search something then with the search page it stops me.

Btw.: My life is more senseless than anyones on this world, and I know I will die once without any friends and such, but you won't make me getting a life. Others need the life more than me. I am the last one who needs it.
