PureBasic "Antipixel" button. Spread the news.

Post by Straker »

Inspired by a hamachi antipixel blog button, I decided to make one for PureBasic since I couldn't find one.

Attach it to your signature and spread the news about PureBasic! Make sure to link it to purebasic.com.

There are quite a few different antipixel buttons floating around the web, so if this annoys you, please move along and don't flame me.

Sorry - my network provider for the hosting machine is up and down right now (hardware issues). We have been down 6 times in the last hour. Each time for a few minutes. Grab em while you can see them! And maybe someone can rehost temporarily for me? Or upload to imageshack or something.

They should stablize later today.

Just went down again while I was typing so I was unable to post. This is so frustrating - like trying to jumping thru a time warp at the right second.

Again Sorry. I wouldn't have posted if I knew I was going to have this network issue.

What's an "antipixel blog button" do? I looked here, but I still don't know:

http://www.quickonlinetips.com/archives ... for-blogs/

Seems to be just a signature graphic or something? I don't get it?

I was wondering the same thing myself. The only thing it seems to be to me is a standard button that is half the height and therefore impossible for me to even see.

Perhaps the name "antipixel" comes from them being too darn small to see and since you can't see them, their existence is just hypothetical like antimatter. And since you can see things made with real pixels, in order for it to really be there and you not be able to see it, it must be made with antipixels.

Antipixel blog buttons originated here. If you don't recognize them, you probably don't surf enough.

[EDIT] Now that I think about it, they are mostly seen on Web design and blog sites more than anywhere [/EDIT]

Anyway - I do think something was wrong with my original GIF file because it looks broken to me in TechJunkies sig, but now when I view image. Hmmm. I am using FireFox 1.5

Anyway, I updated the GIF and added PNG and JPG versions:

Let me know if any of these appear busted (and what browser you are using). Thanks.

My intent was that people would use these in OTHER forum sigs as well. I know alot of you troll Blitz, Dark, PowerBasic and others, and thought it might be a way to help Fred make some more sales, and help others see the light.

[EDIT]
@TechJunkie: Thanks - and be sure to update the GIF in your sig.

@Num3: I like it - maybe even more than mine. heh.

I followed Straker's link and "Antipixel" is just the name of the site that they
originated from. They seem to be just smaller versions of common graphics.
@Straker: I have seen similar ones, but had no idea they were called that.

I originally thought "antipixel" meant it was some anti-spidering web thingy. :)
