How much time do you allocate to PB?

Post by Inf0Byt3 »

How much time do you ppl allocate to PB? Since I discovered it, 6 month ago, I quit many things that i used to do and now i am dependent of coding in PB and visiting this forum :D. I think something's wrong with me, 99% of my spare time goes in front of my computer...

No where near as much as I'd like as it is sooooooooo addictive!

However, having given notice (4 months left) of my resignation from my job, I soon anticipate something approaching 100% or more!

It used to be 100%, but now I have a full time job, I now work 12 hours a day, or between 60 and 84 hours a week, so I only have around 10% for PB :(

Mine too. I really don't know how to tell this, it was said before, but PB is the ONLY programming language. The others are just... toys. (With a few exceptions, of course).

Hmmmm... depends on what you do. If you are going to change 5000 accounts in an AD I wouldn't use PB, but VBScript. If you are involved in another project with 50 programmers that allready use Visual Studio and C++, you would probably have a hard time to convince them to use PB instead. If you are doing a real time system for an Aircraft, you probably use ADA, assembler or a special compiler for a special CPU.

I totally agree,
Still PB is different because it has a little of all the features, it's complete, not like others good just for games or something else.
I can't imagine myself on how will PB look in 10 years  .

I use PB for almost all tools at work. Special Citrix tools, tools for printer handling and lot of other tools.

Before I used C or C++, but it's so much quicker to write the same tool in PB. In a few cases I have been forced to swith to C or C++ again, but that don't happens very often nowdays.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about, it's too simple and powerfull. I tried many languages before but this one is all I ever wanted. I'll never quit programming in it.

Not to throw water on all this, and I agree with much of what has been said, but we're talking primarily about ONE guy ... Fred ... and you never know what the future will hold for 1 person. He might continue developing PB for years to come, he might get the job offer (or buyout offer) of a lifetime and not have time for PB, he might just get tired of it or it might not be financially adequate for him to continue, etc.

But I agree with everyone, for now PB is powerful, productive, cross-platform and FUN! :D

I agree, the first person in this world that should been cloned - it's Fred!
(Hmmm - sounds like a movie title...  )

[EDIT]

"My cloned mate Fred 2"
"Fred the clone"
"Fred's return!"
"Alien 19 - return of Fred"

[EDIT 2]

"Darth Fred - the PB Empires fall"
"Fred Again"
