PB4B7 and Visual Designer OpenWindow command

Post by radar »

Hi,

I'm a little confused and not sure which forum to post this question.

Since the OpenWindow command format changed in Pure Basic Beta 6; where the Title$ parameter was moved in front of the Flags parameter - the VisualDesigner doesn't build the OpenWindow command properly.

I have downloaded the latest Pure Basic Beta, and it is installed in its own folder, and I am using the Visual Designer that comes with it (not the VDBeta)

Is this a known problem or am I just doing something wrong (or stupid)? I haven't seen any posts about it so I think I'm doing something stupid.

I am running on WindowsXp SP1.

I love Pure Basic - and the forum is one of the friendliest I visit. keep up the good work guys.

Thanks in anticipation for your help.

The latest beta of the Visual Designer conforms to the new OpenWindow format, I think they're on beta 13 for the VD now.

Thanks netmaestro,

I haven't been using the new Visual Designer as it is only in Alpha testing - but I like what I see. I have tried it (even alpha 13 - and yes it does code OpenWindow properly) but it doesn't render the source generated by the old Visual Designer the same way and I seem to lose a lot of my gadgets. I am working my way thru it but I thought it would be easier to use the one bundled with PB4 until the new VD was finished (or at a stage where it renderes my windows properly).

You've answered my question at least :-) I wasn't missing anything. I'll just have to wait for the final versions of everything.

I think my real problem is that I was too impatient, and began working with PB4 before it was ready.

Thanks
